Welcome to Faugh Head Farm Caravan Site

Faugh Head Farm is an adults only CL site on a small working farm situated in the beautiful Eden Valley of Cumbria above the picturesque village of Armathwaite and the River Eden. It is in a very peaceful setting with beautiful views across the valley and in good weather we enjoy the most stunning sunsets over the near horizon. We are surrounded by excellent walking country via lanes and woods and are close to the unspoiled east fellside of the North Pennines. We are conveniently situated for touring the Lake District, Scottish Borders and the Roman Wall country of Northumberland. The Border city of Carlisle and the market towns of Penrith and Brampton are each approx 12 mile from us. The famous Settle - Carlisle railway line runs through Armathwaite with a regular service stopping at Armathwaite station which is approx 1.5 miles from the site.

Armathwaite has a Post Office and an exceptionally well stocked shop which sells locally produced foods. There are two pubs in the village, both dog friendly which do excellent meals. We are truly spoiled for dining out as there are several more excellent eating places in nearby villages that are within 10/15 minutes driving distance of the site.

We have a heated indoor swimming pool adjacent to the site which is available for private hire through its normal booking procedures.

On site we have some level and some gently sloping grass pitches fully serviced with electric, fresh water and grey waste disposal, a toilet and shower block with power showers delivering oodles of hot water, a pot wash which visitors find very useful for washing those larger pans etc and all the usual CDP, fresh water supply etc.

We really do welcome dogs and love meeting our canine visitors as well as their owners. The 4 acre field beside the site is secure and kept clear of livestock so that dogs can be exercised "off leash" in this field. We do keep a footpath well mown around its edge so that humans don't get a soaking in the long grass if it's wet.

For more information please telephone Hazel Proud on 01697 472229. Bookings or enquiries can be made by Emailing faughhead@gmail.com.

Smashing Site

Stayed 3 nights mid August couldn't understand why we were the only one's on site, Good location, easy access, good showers and loo's. Hazel and Liz were very welcoming, pubs are within walking distance 3/4 -1 mile distant, Road at end of site no noise that we noticed very little traffic, tractors and local cars only, Will visit again.

'Proud' to have visited twice in 2016

Hazel and Geoff made our two stays brilliant; friendly and welcoming; site facilities hard to beat anywhere. Copious amounts of hot water in both the shower block and dish washing facilities. Mown and swept grass pitches and to top it off a 4 acre dog exercise field which is secure for our four legged friends and which is mown around the perimeter for two legged passage. In fact the only way to improve this site would be by making serviced pitches and having access to wifi... BUT,  those are really minor requests; what a brilliant site and one that we surely will be hoping to return to soon... Cheers from MyBooty of Norfolk.

Stunning Views , Friendly Welcome

We have stayed here several times and will always go back. Always have a warm welcome from Hazel. Toilet Facilities are immaculate . Hook ups waste and Elsan points. Quiet site Adults only with amazing 360 views of the rolling hills and meadows. Large meadow for dog walking and an on site private swimming pool (booking is essential and the cost is reasonable. Never a long enough stay as we love it so much.

Great introduction to C.L sites especially for our cocker spaniel

We stayed here for a few days at the end of July and it was certainly just what we needed after a very busy time at work. As newcomers to caravaning this was our first time at a CLsite.and what a find. There was so much space for Pippa our cocker spaniel tohavea run. Hazel was very welcoming and the facilities excellent. Armathwaite is only ashortdrive andhas two good pubs selling good qualityfood. There is also avery well stocked shop. We had wonderful views from the caravan over the valley. The sunsets were an added bonus. We shall certainly use this site again.
